Riots are formations, compositions of bodies, following an aesthetic vocabulary that is re-enacted and transformed. Inspired by descriptions and images of bodies in Georg Büchners revolution play Dantons Tod, and based on the research of photographic images of past and current revolutions, Harder&Schultz created a performance lecture dealing with the necessity of physical presence, that incorporated a set of live images and experiments of physical resistance and friction on stage and in the urban space.
A first try-out and work-in-progress presentation took place inside Jörn J. Burmesters interactive installation Weltmaschine at Grünthaler9 gallery space in Berlin/D. A one hour long performance lecture was later presented in the framework program of BÜCHNER international festival in Gießen/D. It included the screening of three interventive actions that were performed in the urban space of Gießen during the previous days and reasearch on-site. |
